Johannesburg, 1968. Sixteen-year-old Khuthala dreams of becoming a jazz musician. '

When his father is arrested and brutally beaten, Khuthala is forced into a devastating bargain that pits his talent, friendships and moral compass against a state determined to erase Black ownership and identity.
